Here are the things that helped or hurt me. Avoid making my mistakes and do benefit from what was done properly.
I'm Morgan Bryan and this is my internet home where I will share with you my business adventures and successes. In this way, you may be able to avoid many of the mistakes that I have made. If, you are interested in who I am, my personal data is located at Morgan's Personal Information.
The internet is truly different than anything that you have done before. It is a good idea to learn what to do to be successful.The learning comes from reading what the "experts" have to say. But who are the true experts?
Only you can decide who the real experts are. What is available, on this site, are links to other web sites and quotes from several authors as well as links to their articles or web sites. This provides you with the opinions from "the horse's mouth".
Back to my comedy of errors. My first mistake was the attitude which I brought with me. "I am smart and know all the answers. No need to learn more, no time for it". That was dead wrong.
The other mistakes that I have made are many, like the leaves on a tree. Some of the important errors were:
I'm smarter than you are (not so)
Buy my product so I, not you, will benefit (doesn't work)
I need the money so hurry up and buy my product. (doesn't work either)
In other words, I was self centered and attempting to take advantage of others for my instant gain. That attitude shows through in your sales letters and other content. It also leads you to select the wrong businesses to promote.
Result? FAILURE!!!! FAILURE!!!! FAILURE!!!!

solve their problems
Once you have helped someone identify and resolve their problem, you have started to gain his/her respect. You are building credibility. Your credibility is the key to customer satisfaction as well as to the selling process. Credibility cannot be purchased, it must be earned. The greater your credibility the more likely your customer/prospect is to follow your suggestions. Your recommendations must be valid. You owe it to your customer/prospect to suggest vendors with proven performance. These people are relying on you to help them achieve their goals. Most of all these are your friends or will be if you treat them properly. One needs to be kind with friends because we never know when we will need friends ourselves.
Included in this set of comments, are a number of links to articles and web sites that are written by individuals who know what they are talking about. The major topics are all covered, often more than once.In this way, you will be able to begin forming your own opinions about the best practices for you to adopt. I will also make statements about what are good practices and what are not good practices.

The first one listed is Productivity Equals Success. This is a site which I have created to increase awareness of the skills which are needed by those who are working at a job for a living. Most of us are in that position until we become more successful in internet marketing and promotion.
Since most of us are stuck in a job, we might as well make the most of it and become more successful at it, as well as, at our outside search for financial security.
The next item is an e-book by Graham Hamer called Traffic Jam. This book covers the various aspects of web marketing and discusses each one. It is tabbed above also. You likely will need to revisit this book several times as a one time read would require several hours. Again, the book is worth reading, completely, several times.
Graham Hamer's e-book also provides extensive information on other sources. The one area where Grahm's e-book is weak is in the area of marketing through blogs and community sites. In this area, I will provide you with the references and such personal experience as I have.
With the above as a background you will have enough information to begin to see what type of a role there may be for you and to form an opinion as to what sort of program will work best for you. This can show you how to proceed.

How can we expect to achieve all that stuff? I can only answer that question for me, so we will do that as an Illustration of the logic process that is used.
I have no great visions which would allow me to start a MLM Empire. I do have a vision as to how I might be able to become a super affiliate. So that is what I am beginning to do. While I am becoming a "Super Affiliate" i can also help people do better in their primary job. This is an area where I have a "passion".
We are told that to be a super affiliate we have to promote something or things. We also need to achieve creditability as well as show our enthusiasm. This is best done by setting up our own web site.
The web site will help define us as to who we are and what we believe in. If you believe that the approach which I have taken is valid, then by all means copy it. If you believe that the selections which I have made as to programs to promote is correct, then by all means join them under me. If you have better programs than mine then tell me about them and I may join them.
Before we go any further, there are some realities what the experts don't tell you about that affect every action that you take in the online environment.
To start off with, conceptually and practically, the web is a gigantic search engine. You find things on the internet by searching for them. You find things within a web site by searching for them. The search is done only in a text format. The text format uses words or phrases to organize the search process. These words or phrases are called key words.There are no other ways to search. The search engines are King. The text driven search will always be the means of indexing user information on the internet.
There are significant implications to this statement.
These implications change the way that you look at your marketing efforts. All methods of obtaining large amounts of traffic have to be driven by using keywords.
Graphics mean nothing to a search engine.
The placement and proper use of key words becomes quite important.
Affiliate marketing web sites are all using the same key words with in a particular program.This means that to attract traffic to the site you must use Blogs, advertising or community sites to attract traffic to those programs.
The need to know something about Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) becomes important.
Setting up your own web site allows you to maximize the use of keywords within your site.
The list goes on and on.
Does this mean that traffic exchanges are not very effective? The answer is: YES they are not very effective. Their day of effectiveness has come and gone. The following example is by my personal experience, I purchased 1 Million credits on a well known traffic exchange. So far I have used 500 thousand credits and have less than 10 sign ups from those credits.
It is helpful to surf traffic exchanges about 1 hour out of every forty hours of effort. This provides insights as to what is currently being promoted on the internet. My 2 suggested traffic exchanges are traffic swarm and ts25.com.
To drive traffic to your sites, there are several options. The first is advertising. There are free advertising programs, paid advertising sites and other paid sites. One has very careful to use advertisers who have effective programs. Some advertisers send your ads to sites that no one visits. Obviously, you can't get responses under those circumstances.
Another way to dive traffic to your sites is to write articles about the site that you want to promote. The articles are then submitted to various sites who specialize in providing subject content to the internet.
You can also use blogs and community sites to promote your sites. For some people this is a preferred option.
The use of keywords is mandatory if you want to generate traffic. This constant will not change as the internet matures. Having this information forces one to look at all marketing and sales efforts in a different way.
As you may have already realized, most programs that are available on the internet require you to drive traffic to them (your site in their program). They never seem to send traffic to you. This means that you must create traffic and drive it to the affiliate program. A mailing list is a good way to do that.
Your marketing efforts must generate substantial volumes of traffic that you can direct to your web sites of choice.
Installing a third party created affiliate program is not sufficient. You must have a means of driving traffic to it. Surfing will not accomplish that purpose.
A few comments about the programs which have been chosen. Listed below, there are a variety of programs which do several very different things. Some are sites that promote e-mail list building. Others are sites that establish links to other web sites. Still other web sites listed are blogs or community sites. Well you get the idea, the list of sites is quite diverse. It needs to be diverse because the means of obtaining traffic and building lists is a complex set of requirements.
These sites have been selected because they will drive traffic to the places where where you choose to receive income or build a list to which you will market.
This recommendation is for one of your first needs, the web site. I have had good success with Bravenet. Here are some of the advantages of using Bravenet. If you set up a premium account, you will only pay $30.00 per quarter. For that you get 200 sub accounts. This means that you can have 200 websites hosted for 30.00 every 90 days. Each web site can be several pages long. This a remarkable value when you want to set up multiple web sites. I do suggest that multiple web sites are essential to increasing your income.
This is the time to discuss the effective use of blogs. The first approach is the traditional method of starting with a blog entry and then adding new postings. The idea is to use a subject which is of interest to a specific group of readers (surfers). The content has to be meaningful and additional postings which are on the base subject are then posted by you on a frequent basis. The purpose is to attract "organic" traffic to the blog and to keep them returning so that they can read what you have said in your subsequent postings. This, of course occurs over a relatively long period of time.
The other approach, which is not well known, is to write individual blogs that are specifically aimed at promoting one of the subjects that you are promoting. The object of this method is to have the site reviewed by a search engine and included in its sites to which search engine visitors are referred. In this way your blog is visited by the search engine's customer (a potential prospect for your offer). The blog promotes your web site and has a link to it. In this way you increase the presence of your programs on the internet.
The largest search engine on the internet is Google. They also own Blogger.com. This makes Blogger.com an excellent choice to be one of the blogs to which you post. They will be able to review your entry within 4 or 5 days and they will review all of your entries within that time frame. The disadvantage to using blogger.com is that you are not your own boss. Google controls your account and if the want to de-list you they can and will do so. The alternative is to establish the blog entry on your own domain and use Blogger to access it. This easily set up and makes you in charge of your own destiny.
What is the most important detail in the blogging activity? It is of course the proper use of keywords. The Keywords within your blog need to match those which are used in your promotional site. The blog site keywords most also must match the keywords for which potential visitors are searching. This is easy to say but much harder to do.
Because of the complexities of working with keywords, I have set up another location at which we will discuss keywords in more detail. There is information about what analysis tools are available and other useful items. The name of the site is "Morgan'sHome for keywords" and it can be accessed by clicking the tab in the left column bearing that name.
For some time I have been attempting to develop a squeeze page that could be used in this application and others where needed. Because of my inexperience with how this sort of thing works and not knowing how to set up the activity, my attempts have only led to frustration and lost money.
But as of now that that problem has been resolved. I have found a squeeze page program that actually works. In fact it is the one in use in the left column. Not only does it work, but its basic configuration is available at no charge. It is called Instant Squeeze Page Generator. It was developed by Robert Puddy and is a very user friendly progran. It is template driven which makes it easy to set up and it provides useful alternatives. Included in the free package are several e-books which can be offered as incentives. The book is so well written that I have decided that I will set up a PPC site of my own. The model for doing so, is the same e-book that I am giving away here. I promise to keep you posted on how this project progresses.
